Nature is in full splendor in Fall with the deep purple of blooming asters, leaves changing colors in warm red, orange and yellow; all set against the bright blue backdrop of the sky.

Opal is the birthstone for October;
and this gemstone features many of the colors of fall.

Treasured by many for its difference in appearance then any other gemstone, the value of an Opal depends upon the vividness, range & pattern of the flashes of color within the gemstone.

Ironically, though Opals have an unusually high water content, they are mainly found in Australia.  Opals are a softer gemstone and should be well protected in jewelry mountings and cleaned with mild soap and lukewarm water.

As always, we recommend that you regularly have your jewelry checked & inspected.   We can do that while you wait ... as well as keep your jewelry sparkling & clean.....
After cleaning, we will check for any missing stones;  inspect each stone for tightness; and  look for chips, nicks and breakage.
Prongs, shanks and mountings will be inspected for wear and cracks.
If repairs are needed, we will make suggestions and discuss possible options with you.
